Order to register with the Jewish Council, 19th March. 1941

Following the German invasion of the Netherlands on 10 May 1940, this document records an order requiring Jews to register with the 'Joodse Raad' (Jewish Council), established in February 1941. The Nazi authorities used such councils to administer anti-Jewish measures and to monitor the Jewish population. One of the earliest regulations compelled all Jews to register and carry identity cards.
