Rosy, Sigmund and Zahava moved to Amsterdam after leaving Palestine in April 1937.

This photograph was probably taken during a visit to Sigmund's parents in Dusseldorf. It preserves a moment of everyday family life before the upheaval of war and persecution altered the course of the family’s lives.
